After setup a site from begin without quick start, we need to create modules for the site. In order to do this easily, you should setup quickstart (zip file downloaded in template) so that you can compare your clear site without any data and site with quickstart. 

I still use example is our template "Birdsign", if you do not know how to setup a site from begin without template and how to setup quickstart, please check this link:

So now, start to create menu module.

Step 1: Log in both of siteas an admin with address formula "localhost/your_name_folder/administrator.

Address to login site setup without quickstart: localhost/lamtudau25/administrator

Address to login site setup with quickstart: localhost/quickstart1/administrator

User and password for both are "admin"

Step 2:  After loging in, do as these piture:

Step 3: After opening "Main menu" of both, you will see them like that:

Then, fix information in "*" is totally same as "**" with directions of red arrows.

I will show step by step to setup a site from begin based on joomla 2.5. "Birdsign" is one of our templates and choosen as an example. 

Step 1: Download joomla 2.5 and extract files in a folder, I named this folder "lamtudau25". After that, open it in a tab with address "localhost/lamtudau25" in order to install data. That will be showed in this picture:

Then choose language (English).

Step 2: Then click "next" until step 4 - Database.

Write information as directions in this picture.

Step 3: Click "next" again until step 6 - Configuration, write down your information, eg: your site name, your email, password, etc. 

Please note that DO NOT click button "Install Sample Data". Do totally same as this picture and click "Next".

Step 4: After click "Next", you will see the tab like this piture and click the button that the green arrow leads.

Later, if you click "Site" or open a new tab with "localhost/lamtudau25", the site will be showed without any data as below:

Step 5: Go to the site as admin by opening a tab with "localhost/lamtudau25/administrator to setup template for your site.

In step 2, user name and password that I wrote admin for remembering easily but you can write your own as you want.

After loging in, do as this picture leads:

Step 6: Choose the file in template "Birdsign" downloaded before:

Step 7: After choosing template file, click "Upload and install":

After uploading successfully, you will receive this notification:

When clicking "View site", interface of the site will be shown as below:

Step 8: Now, start to setup template "Birdsign" for interface of your site.
Do as this picture shows:

Click "View site" again, the interface will be as below:

The site is still clear because we have not updated data yet. So now we will setup each module as in demo. By the way, you should setup quickstart so that you can compare site with quickstart and without quick start.

After downloading templates, you need to setup quickstart to see demo of templates, example BUSINESS. There are some very simple steps as below (anyway you have to follow default step by step. These steps I list below are just more special than others) :

Step 1: Extract the file "joomla_quickstart.rip" and name it. In this case, I called it "quickstart2"

Step 2: Choose your language suitable to you and then click "Next"

Step 3: Write your name folder in "Database Name" and then Click "Next"

Step 4: For step 6 - Configuration, you have to chose "sample_st_business" and then Click "Install sample data"

Step 5: The lastest step to accomplish demo for template Business is to click "Remove installation folder

Finally, you click to "Site" and watch Business demo.

As we know if you want to see places of each modules in Template, you just need to put "?tp=1" after domain name. That will help you to arrange easily place of each module but we do not know how to do this for Joomla 3.1, so please read carefully these directions with illustrations as below:

Step 1: Log in

Step 2: Look at the menu and click "Extension" -->Template manager

After clicking, you will see your website interface as this pictue. Then look at the menu and search "Option", then click it.

Step 3: After clicking "Option", do as this picture leads:

Step 4: Put "?tp=1" after domain name and enter, then you will see place of each modules
